The building of the church was started sometime during the 11th Century. The walls of the nave and about two- thirds of the present chancel are thought to be original, the chancel being extended in the 13th Century. The font is also said to date from the 13th Century.

The tower is 15th Century, the pulpit is 17th Century, and the north porch is 19th Century. The building is knapped flint and roughcast with a tiled king-post roof.
